If your child is high-school aged, check out Parents of Neurodiverse High Schoolers.If you have a pre-school aged child, there are 2 groups to check out: Parent Café and The Early Years. Autism support is available through many of them. Parents Helping Parents has groups for parents with children of every age. Other Support Groups that might be of interest: Families share sensitive information during our groups and it’s more supportive to be able to see each other. Please plan to have your camera on during our meetings to build trust and collaboration. Note that all of our meeting times are for the Pacific Time Zone. Refer to the event calendar for our next meeting date and time. This group meets on the second Tuesday evening of the month. Meetings are held online via Zoom and facilitated by two knowledgable volunteers: Kat, mom to a young adult, and Hadeel, mom to a school-aged child. Some meetings will include a local professional to present on special needs topics. You can share your personal story, or simply listen and learn from other parents. This is a wonderful chance to connect with parents and families with experiences similar to yours. We also encourage attendance from those working with children with developmental delays in communication, behavior, and social skills. This autism support group is ideal for parents, professionals, and caregivers of school-aged children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The Autism Support Group for parents meets monthly to discuss autism related issues relevant to school-aged youth.
